Keownology was founded by Grant Keown, a Full Stack Developer, Systems Administrator and IT Systems Engineer with 15+ years of hands-on experience in network and internet administration, technical support (from first-line to advanced troubleshooting), and responsive web design. Based in Stellenbosch, South Africa, Grant helps SMEs modernize their infrastructure, harden security, and keep critical services running smoothly.
Experience
- Founder & IT Consultant — Keownology ( – Present): Delivering practical IT solutions for small to mid-sized businesses across South Africa, including M365/Azure administration, network design, backups/DR, and site-to-site VPNs.
- Full Stack Developer / Systems Administrator / IT Systems Engineer / SaaS Support Engineer ( – ): End-to-end server and network management (Windows/Linux), virtualization, monitoring, and security hardening for multi-site environments.
- Technical Support Specialist ( – ): Frontline to advanced support, ticket triage, root-cause analysis, and user training with a strong customer-service focus.
Education & Professional Development
- Ongoing upskilling: Microsoft 365/Azure administration, Linux server management, security best practices, and analytics/implementation work (e.g., Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager).
- While Grant has Diploma's in IT Support and Cyber Security, and Certified in CompTIA A+, Network Security and Cloud Computing. He is actively studying toward his Degree in Computer Science.
